Easy Apple Dumpling Recipe Easy Apple Dumplings Recipe – Babyhazel

Ingredients:

  • 6 medium-sized apples, peeled and cored
  • 1 package of pre-made pie crust (or homemade dough)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).

  1. Peel and core the apples, then set them aside.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Set this mixture aside as well.
  3. Roll out your pie crust dough to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut out circles that will encase each apple.
  4. Place an apple in the center of each circle. Sprinkle a small amount of the cinnamon sugar mixture over each apple.
  5. Moisten the edges of the dough circles with water and fold them over the apples, sealing the edges.
  6. Place the sealed dumplings in a baking dish. Continue this process until all dumplings are prepared.
  7. Pour the water and lemon juice into the bottom of the baking dish, around the dumplings.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes at 450°F (232°C), then reduce heat to 350°F (176°C) and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  9. Serve your apple dumplings warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired!
